At Hirsch Hill, we take great care in ensuring that your wine reaches you safely, securely, and in excellent condition. This Shipping Policy outlines how your order is processed, packed, and delivered — with special attention given to the nature of wine as a perishable product.
Shipping Methods & Carriers
We ship Australia-wide using Australia Post, offering both:

Regular Parcel Post

Express Post
All shipping rates are carrier-calculated at checkout, based on your location and order size. You will receive tracking details once your order has been dispatched.
Delivery Timeframes

Metro Areas: 2–5 business days (Regular Post)

Regional & Remote Areas: 3–10 business days

Express Post: 1–3 business days (depending on location)
Please note that delivery timeframes may vary during peak periods, public holidays, and due to carrier delays outside of our control.
Shipping Conditions & Age Verification

Age Requirement: Wine is legally sold only to persons 18 years and older. By placing an order, you confirm you are of legal drinking age.

Proof of Age: Australia Post may require identification upon delivery. We reserve the right to cancel orders suspected of breaching this regulation.

No PO Boxes for Alcohol: Please use a physical delivery address where someone 18+ can accept the order.
Heat Policy & Weather Conditions
Wine is sensitive to extreme temperatures. To ensure your wine arrives in peak condition:

Hot Weather Delays: If a heatwave is forecasted (30°C+), we may hold your shipment temporarily to prevent spoilage or leakage during transit.

You’ll be notified via email if we are delaying dispatch for this reason.

Cold Packs Not Used: Due to the nature of glass bottles and climate variation, we do not use ice packs or insulated packaging. If you require a faster method, we recommend selecting Express Post at checkout.
Breakages & Transit Damage
Every order is packed with care, and all parcels are insured against breakage during transit. If your order arrives damaged:

Include a photo of the damaged item(s) and the packaging

We’ll organise a replacement or refund as soon as possible
Authority to Leave (ATL)
By default, deliveries require a signature. However, if you provide Authority to Leave:

You accept responsibility for any loss, theft, or heat damage that may occur after delivery

We recommend avoiding ATL during hot weather unless you’re confident someone will be home to receive it
Delivery Issues
If your order hasn’t arrived within the expected timeframe:

If you suspect the parcel is lost, contact us and we will follow up with Australia Post
Please allow up to 10 business days for rural deliveries before lodging a formal enquiry.
